Geological Modelling as an Inference Problem
Outline
Structural geological modelling is a field of active development and several significant achievements have been made in recent years. These include the development of novel modelling algorithms, which help to automate important aspects of the modelling step. Exploiting the automation of the model, we are now able to include geological modeling directly in a Bayesian inference framework to analyze uncertainties. This analysis covers the propagation of uncertainty, the integration of data through inversion and the correlation of information.
