Professor Dr. Wolfgang Marquardt elected as new head of the Wissenschaftsrat

At its recent winter session, the Wissenschaftsrat, an advisory scientific council for the German federal government and state governments, elected Professor Dr. Wolfgang Marquardt as its new head. Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Marquardt is head of AVT–Process Systems Engineering at RWTH Aachen University, Director of the Center for Computational Engineering Science, and a Member of the Steering Committees for AICES Graduate School and the Tailor-Made Fuels from Biomass Cluster of Excellence. In 2007 and 2009 he was a member of the strategy board of RWTH Aachen University. He is a highly valued expert in these respective disciplines. In 2001, he received the highly-sought Leibniz Prize of the DFG.
