AICES Junior Research Group Leader Prof. Dr. David Bommes started at the Institute of Computer Science, University of Bern. David Bommes was elected Full Professor of Computer Graphics on September 1st at the University of Bern. He is the successor of Professor Matthias Zwicker and has been appointed co-director of the Institute of Computer Science.
His research interests include the development of efficient algorithms for digital geometry generation and processing, as well as numerical optimization algorithms. The work of David Bommes is characterized by a close integration of basic research with practical relevance, which has allowed some of his algorithms to produce high-quality 3D models in widespread commercial and industrial application software.
