Elmar Peise Awarded a Fellowship from the Deutsche Telekom Stiftung
AICES fellow Elmar Peise received a two-year scholarship from the Deutsche Telekom Stiftung. The award is for his research project “Performance Modeling for Linear Algebra”, supervised by Professor Paolo Bientinesi.
The Deutsche Telekom Stiftung is a non-profit foundation established in 2003 by Deutsche Telekom. Its objective is to permanently strengthen Germany´s claim to being an educational, research and scientific powerhouse by raising the standard of German education in STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering and mathematics).
The program seeks out bright young doctoral candidates in mathematics, physics, chemistry or computer science and helps them realize their potential by granting financial and travel support as well as personal career supervision.
In 2013, the Deutsche Telekom Stiftung awarded only 12 fellowships across Germany.
