Dr. Roger Sauer starts at AICES
Dr. Roger A. Sauer joins the AICES team as a Junior Research Group Leader in January 2010. He received the Diploma in Civil Engineering (2002) from the University of Karlsruhe, Germany and the Master of Science and Ph.D. in Civil Engineering (2003 and 2006, respectively) from the University of California at Berkeley, USA. Between 2007 and 2008 he was a Post-Doc. at the Institute of Mechanics and Computational Mechanics at the Leibniz University Hannover (LUH). Since 2008 he worked as Junior Research Group Leader at the Institute of Continuum Mechanics and helped to establish the Graduate School 'MUSIC' (Multiscale methods for Interface Coupling) at LUH. His major research interests are nonlinear continuum mechanics, advanced finite element methods, multiscale methods, contact mechanics, biomechanical adhesion and self-cleaning surface mechanisms. Dr. Sauer is funded by the Emmy-Noether program of the German Research Society (DFG).
