Dr. Nicole Faber Presented the Concept of the Charlemagne Distinguished Lecture Series at the DFG Workshop on International Research Marketing

Within the framework of the initiative “Research in Germany”, that has been developed by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), the German Research Foundation organized a workshop on international research marketing in January 2014.

Dr. Nicole Faber, managing director of AICES, presented the concept and aims of the Charlemagne Distinguished Lecture Series at this event. The best-practice workshop aimed to improve the international visibility of top-class research in Germany by different marketing concepts, such as social media, career fairs or university networking.

However, the focus of this year’s workshop was especially on the exchange of experiences between the actors of international research marketing of higher education institutions as well as non-university research institutes. Around 80 participants from 40 research institutions attended the workshop, coming from all over Germany. During two days they discussed together the growing activities, opportunities and challenges in this particular field.
