AICES Principal Investigator to Become New Chairman of the Board of Forschungszentrum Jülich

The Supervisory Board of Forschungszentrum Jülich resolved to appoint Prof. Dr.-Ing. Wolfgang Marquardt new Chairman of the Board of Directors of Forschungszentrum Jülich.

Wolfgang Marquardt, born in Böblingen, Germany, in 1956, has been Professor of Process Systems Engineering at RWTH Aachen since 1993. In 2006, Marquardt has become Principal Investigator at the AICES Graduate School.

Currently, Marquardt is also the Chairman of the Council of Science and Humanities (WR).

In 2001, he received the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Award from the German Research Foundation, which is considered to be the most important research prize in Germany.
