AICES 10-Year Anniversary

On September 2, 2016 the AICES Graduate School celebrated its 10th year anniversary. AICES was established in November 2006 within the framework of the Excellence Initiative. The celebration took place in the Pontstrasse in the Katholische Hochschulgemeinde. A number of presentations were held about the AICES Graduate School and its development. In their presentations, Prof. Marquardt (Research Centre Jülich) and Prof. Dahmen (RWTH Aachen) included a very personal review about the origins and development of the Graduate School. The program was supplemented by lectures of Prof. Rolf Jeltsch (ETH Zurich) and Prof. Michael Schäfer (TU Darmstadt) about Computational Engineering Science at other universities. Between the presentations and during lunch the event was accompanied by music performed by a string quartet.
