Improved Long-Range Solvers for Molecular Simulations
The efficient calculation of long-range pair-potentials is a challenging task. The today most widely used methods are based on an approach introduced by Ewald in 1921. But during the last years it has become clear that the usage of these methods is the bottleneck for the simulation of large molecular systems. Consequently, the aim of my research is the investigation of a particular promising alternative long-range solver: the multilevel summation.
