Thesis Title: Modeling disease Progression in Myeloproliferative Neoplasm, a System Medicine Approach
Complex diseases such as cancer can show markedly distinct phases that differ in their biological characterization and , crucially, in our ability to treat them. But what drives disease progression? How to different stages of disease differ? And how can we determine the stage of disease in a particular patient?In my work, I address these questions bu coupling mechanistic models of cancer progression in Myeloproliferative neoplasms with patient data, aiming for a better understanding of phases transitions in complex diseases that will inform and improve diagnosis and therapy.
